2020 Season Preview

Down Low (106-132): A young group of lowerweights, with several frosh expected to contribute to the lineup. Junior TJ Bodei and sophomore Will Hinkson are returning starters that give new coach John Manzo some experience to break in the new faces around. Both Bodei and Hinkson finished just short of the .500 mark last season, but should be able to flip that this season with the work put in.

In The Middle (138-160): The Hawks have their most experience returning in the middleweights. Senior Connor Ferino had a nice post-season, finishing 2nd in the Districts, the Hawks lone returning District Medalist. Also back is LJ Andrews who is looking for a breakout sophomore season after starting as a freshman last season. The group also receives a lift with the return of senior Tyler Huston, who missed last season after registering 18 wins as a sophomore in 2018.

Up Top (170-Hwt): Another very young group here with sophomore Matthew Bryant the only returning starter from last year up here.

As mentioned, this is a very young team with few seniors in the lineup. Regardless, new head coach John Manzo has the enthusiasm in the room high and has a hard working group that is looking for the hard work to translate onto the mat. As with most young teams, there will probably be some bumps along the way, but the focus will be on to keep on improving as the year rolls on, stay competitive in the division, and hopefully if all clicks, set some guys up for some strong postseason runs.
