2017 Season Preview

h only three seniors, former Hawk, Bill Meaney, takes over the reins as head coach of what looks to be a young Manchester lineup in 2017. Although a young group, nine starters from last year are back, and are spread throughout the lineup.

Down low, the Hawks have the potential to have a solid 1-2 punch at 106/113 with the duo of Jonathan Salvemini, and Eyup Yildirim. Salvemini is coming off a nice sophomore campaign that saw him record 21 wins, while Yildirim returns to the team after winning 17 bouts as a sophomore in 2015. A foursome of juniors, Ja'imeer Gaines, Tariq Williams, Kyle Rembach, and Bradley Huston, will look to take the next step in 2017 with a full year of varsity experience under their belts.

Up top, double-digit winners Matt Migliaccio and Mike Brennan are back and will look to provide senior leadership for an otherwise young group that also includes Quint Kearns and Blaise Lawson, who started as frosh.

This will be a bit of a learning year for Manchester as coach Meaney, an NCAA All-American at Elizabethtown, begins to mold the young room. He's got some guys here capable of making some noise, especially in Salvemini and Yildirim down low, and Migliaccio in the middle, but we'll keep an eye on the whole lineup as a team this young will keep looking to learn and keep improving as the season goes on.
